This is a big deal here in Dallas. And by big deal, I am not talking about Apostolic churches but everybody.

There are lots of BIG churches in Dallas and they are Non-Denom mainline, or baptist or presbyterian etc. most of them have a Saturday night service.

My friends who attend that as their big weekend service (not going at all on Sunday) seem to love it.

Lots of the big churches here have a midweek, then have basically have multiple weekend services where the people pick one. Sat. Evening, then an early Sunday morning and a late Sunday morning service.

Not at all but I have small kids having a easy Sunday night makes the week work better.... and Saturday is NOT NOT NOT a relaxing day at my house. It is catch up day. There is no downtime. there is just getting the junk done that builds up all week, then there is shopping for the next week etc.

Re: Cutting Back On 'Church' Services

It is clear all of you one service folks have all gone Charistmatic and don't love God. How can you forget how the Bible clearly states there must be two services on Sunday. Isn't that what Jesus taught and adhered to in the New Testament? I suppose you wouldnt' know tht because you probably no longer use the KJV, which we all know is the only translation God approves of.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Saw this on a forum I'm following:

Local, Organic, Pasture-Fed Sacred Cows Make the Best Hamburgers: Killing Our Small Group Ministry

Everything has its season it seems. Small Groups are new and relevant to some churches - others are killing them.

The writer of Hebrews said 'so much the more as you see the day approaching" I guess some folks are preterists and they don't see the day approaching. I still feel like David "I was glad when they said."

Why? Do people not have a strong enough personal relationship with God?

I think many have forgotten that the Sabbath was supposed to be a day of rest.

Funny how many Apostolics will preach hard against people working their regular jobs on Sunday, but will load people up teaching Sunday School, coming to choir practice, singing, making food sometimes, and being in church for 6-8 hours on a Sunday.......that is NOT resting!

If they don't, coming to church every single day is not going to save them.
