You need to do a search on here. There is an extensive thread about the Drost situation. Basiclay there was a dispute between Drost and the UPCI Foreign Missions division and Drost has pulled the entire Mexican UPC out of the main org. I am quite sure that is why the UPCI recalled missionairies and are not currently sending AIM's to Mexico.

I am sure they are waiting to resolve the situation or to get a new organization organized to go back into Mexico competing with Drost's org.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

God is Sovereign.
If He has called you knowing that your understanding was that He was going to use you through the UPCI, He will either make His Calling for you so clear while opening another door that will be IMPOSSIBLE to reasonably refute as an act of GOD or He will work things out with the UPCI.

You could always leave the UPCI, but in this situation, I think that decision would be a bit hasty.

God has ordained human government.
God has ordained church government.
You need to wait.
Good advise, listen to this.^

I read it the first time. My question is what about the Drost situation caused this exactly? What did it do to make them pull missionaries?

I don't think anybody publicly knows the answer to your question about what happened but you don't have to know what happened to understand why they pulled missionaries back. Those missionaries were now part of a "rogue" National UPC work. The UPCI was not going to leave UPC missionaries being supported by the FM division there working under Drost and in facilities, etc that he controls.

Re: How the T. Drost Situation Is effecting Me

There must be a serious impasse with Drost and UPCI Foreign Missions Dept., because Mexico would just be one of many countries where UPC is nationally registered and independent of UPCI (though numerically they are usually included).

Re: How the T. Drost Situation Is effecting Me

We have two former missionaries in our church, and our church supports a LOT of missionaries (who come by our church when they're on deputation). I have yet to meet a whiner.

I'm trying to understand what's so rough about the gig. Also find it hard to offer sympathy.
Seriously???....I have a friend in missions right now that is being followed constantly by authorities waiting for her to slip up...she is is constant danger...and yet because of her love for the Gospel she keeps on. Her husbands (deceased now) health was broken after 27 years on the field, they were shot at, robbed, assaulted, and in danger multiple times.

You are so bitter against the UPC you have nothing good to say about any part of it.

Get over yourself.

I don't care what denomination where a person is called. A missionary is a calling where you will see your rewards on the other side of this earth.

I have much respect for missions.
