I'm not certain about this, but I think he was making a joke and implying that he's a snake handler.

Aren't they being disobedient to this verse if they take everything literally?

Very good point!

Now you're just confusing the issue with facts!!!!

Margie???

My understanding is that they found another place available to rent almost immediately. I'm not sure that answers your question.

If that were the case, then Apostolic people would only rarely go out to eat. Because you might be surprised how many people who own restaurants, or are chefs in restaurants are also gay. I'm not saying ALL - or even most. But I am saying that you don't know - so would you take a chance?

Purchasing the building and changing the face of the property is entirely a different story. Renting it, I stand with them in supportive agreement, IMO. Purchasing it and them moving away is another.
I am sure I don't know everything my local boutique owner does with her money, nor do I care. She doesn't come home with me, nor rent a room.
|
But this pastor is not coming home with any of them either, nor renting a room from them Her church is renting the church to them. But they have no part of any of their services or any of their activities.

If the boutique owner had a reputation of being a child abuser or something else that was a drag on society, I wouldn't be a patron at her shop.
We simply can't place the church in that kind of politically correct position. 20 years or so ago, we wouldn't be having this argument. We've come a long way, baby.

Carnality will cause people to worry about their 'image' in the community.
Spirit-filled people should never fear any spirit that confronts them to the point that they run. God gave us the Spirit and the power to cast out unclean spirits.
Who knows, a powerful service in that building just might leave some spirit-filled pentecostal influence?

Ah, actually, I have to take issue with the first statement.......the Bible teaches that we are to avoid the very appearance of evil, and not to let our good be evil spoken of.....it would behove Christians to worry a bit about their "image"....
