Re: PO, Renda, and others.... Need your help....

Margie,
Saw this today and remembered your upcoming event. This is so cute. I have a white milk glass cake stand and know where I could pick up red to go with a few of these for the cakes. Very cute.

PO, that's so funny!! Pat just called me today to tell me that the burlap we had planned on using to go around the jars for each place setting was not going to work at all because it sheds too much. So she wanted to go with denim I have to show her these!! thanks!!

I like the cake stand. I do think that between what Pat has and what the church has, we've got lots of cake stands already. I wonder tho how it would work to use the fabric we are making napkins out of to line the cake plates? We bought fabric instead of buying all those men's hankies because it was cheaper and it's the exact same fabric. One of our ladies is a professional seamstress and she is surging all the edges for us for free.

Did I tell you what we ended up with for the menu? Our local nursing home does catering as a fund raiser to make money for their residents activites (parties, outings, etc.) They are VERY good!! Better than any restaurant around here - seriously! So for $9.00 per person, we are getting fried chicken, stuffed pork chops, a beautiful salad and 3 homemade dressings that the people can choose from, rolls, red skin potatoes, green beans with bacon and onion and mini corn-on-the-cob ears. We'll provide sweet tea, lemonade, water and coffee. And Pat will make all those cakes. So I think that sounds very good - AND we don't have to cook! What a bonus!!

I sure appreciate everyone's help with this. This has been great fun!

That is awesome too! I had someone who was going to sell me her serger and I turned her down. It was a good deal! I should have taken it.

This was like buying a new vehicle. Every time you look around you see one like yours. So, every time I got online, I'd find something that could go with your theme. LOL!

I like when we all put our heads together and help you out. Fun, Fun!!!

A serger is like a sewing machine that uses several different threads at one time. It gives a professional finish to the edge or seam.

I thought those settings were available on a sewing machine.
