and went to heaven to prepare a place for you.

He stands at the door of your heart, and knocks and
you are the one who can let them in.

And He will never leave you or forsake you.

When you come to Him with a repented heart you will be saved.
And it's not by works, only by grace that you are saved.

Don't rely in your works because you are
never good enough to be saved by works.

Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats based on their works. So it says.

That's nothing new.

The "works" you folks are talking about come
as A RESULT OF SALVATION. <----------------

Works is not a CONDITION for SALVATION.
If you depend on works for salvation you are
actually saying that what Christ did
on the cross was not enough to save you.

Hmm. Doesn't actually say any of that, but OK. So, do only saved people do those works that Jesus mentioned?

Moral to the story? I guess just like doctrine, you saw what you wanted to see in my posts to NG? If you go back to the original discussion, I make the statement that whatever it is that you believe it better be the truth, THE TRUTH, because the Bible teaches there is only ONE TRUTH.

You came into the conversation with posting a question, what made me think I had the correct doctrinal glasses?

This same question could be thrown back at you, for me to ask, what makes you think you have the correct doctrinal glasses?

Everyone from the Calvinist, to the Molinist, from the Dispensationalist to the Amillennialist believe what they have as doctrine is correct, no excuses, no sitting down with bongo drums, folk music, and wanting unity on what little they agree on, but just allowing the elephant in the room to wander around in the back, while everyone agrees to disagree.

The Bible only proclaims one truth, and if either you or I don't posses that truth, it wouldn't be God who is at fault. It will be our own perception, and agenda of what we believed the truth to be.

You asked me if I had the truth, my answer is yes, if my answer was no, then I would make a lot of my Rabbinical Jewish friends laugh, just as hard as my Hindu, and Muslim friends.

Because they proclaim that they have the TRUTH.

Funny, there are no Hindu forums (that I know of) where they are posting back and forth about whether or not Ram was really an avatar of Vishnu, or if Krishna was correct for telling Arjuna to fire the first shot at his relatives in battle.

No Muslim forums (that I know of ) were innovators are commended for their new ideas concerning the Koran, or Hadith.

While Rabbinical Jews argue over Talmud, they still agree on their main cultural practices within Orthodox Judaism.

Yet, all of them believe that they are in the truth, and that their truth is the truth and what we believe may be just a learning curve to bring us to their truth.

My post to NG was that everyone who is sincerely in a religion will tell you that you need to take off your "doctrinal glasses" in order to see their truth.

That in a nutshell, is how I started out my post. I ended with posting that everyone has to believe they have the truth if they are sincerely practicing their religion with a honest faith.

Hence, I brought up the question that was posed to me during Bible study class concerning the Pope Benedict XVI making the statement that the RCC was the ONLY way to heaven. My reply to that wasn't, how does he know he is in the truth? But the obvious, of course he believes he is in the truth, or else he shouldn't be the pope.

While you may not be the originator, you did pose the question using the idea of "doctrinal glasses."

Sorry my fault, I thought by asking you the two questions we both would get the answers we were looking for.

Again sorry.
