What were you using before?

Why would anyone mic a bass amp?

Bass Amps don't really need amplification but if you are just trying to get it into a sound system then run one of the amps output lines directly into the mic port

IMHO, it would be better to mic it. Running the output line causes the amp to lose some flavor. And I've never been a fan of D.I units for bass.

Then why mic it at all?

If the amp isn't loud enough for the size of the room. 50 watts isn't all that loud for a big or small church. There are also other instruments that the amp would have to compete with.

Re: Condenser Mic Question ?

See I'm using a Crate BT 50 amp and sometimes I'm playing with a group that does outdoor things, and too my amp does not a DI on it. Peavey amps do,I played with a southern group and I used their Peavey amp and it went through the Pa system.
