Or the Koran, or the Vedas.

We don't. We simply take what we have and formulate a view, a behavior from whatever source is available to us. There are generally accepted practices among most cultures (not all) which result in behavior and beliefs that help creation instead of harming creation. Yet this isn't absolute truth, it's just generally accepted truth. Society is better following that truth some believe.

Right...and this is the question humans have asked for ages. I take it you believe the protestant bible is the absolute standard for truth. How do you know the books in the catholic bible are not canonical?

And if the bible is the standard for truth, why change certain scriptures such as the one referenced earlier?
Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Why would you change that scripture and not change this one.....
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Now, one has to be changed to agree with the other. According to my standard from the bible, Luke 14:26 is the scripture needing changing. It shouldn't say hate, it should say love (complete opposites). Now I can claim I get my standards from the bible.

Don't understand what you're saying here. I don't see how Luke 14:26 presents a problem with matt 19:19

By comparing them with the other with the other books of the Bible. Also those that would be considered as as pre new testament books are never qouted by any of the apostles or Jesus ( with the possible exception of in Jude).

Is that true?
Your comment is one that makes an absolute statemnt regarding truth but by your own admission that absolute truth does not exist your comment is false.
In other words you just posted a self defeating statement that defies logic.
