I have several parallel Bibles... KJV/NKJV, KJV/NIV, KJV/Amplified, etc. I like to only view two translations at a time, unless I am specially looking up a particular passage. Comparing two versions at a time sure allows you to know which version you don't really like.

The Amplified gives me a headache with all of the words in parenthesis. It reminds me of reading a book while someone keeps talking to you and you want them to be quiet.

From G5449; “physical”, that is, (by implication) instinctive: - natural.
Compare G5591.
That's interesting because I think that you "naturally" view women as having longer hair than a man. And a short hair cut might be attractive, but it's only attractive if the woman has a pretty face, same as long hair. So, it's not the haircut men are looking at, really.

Re: Hair and Nature?

We had one these pictures hanging on the wall for years. Even when my hair was a little long and my parents kept encouraging me to get a haircut. I never mentioned the contradiction.

So what about the women whose hair isn't naturally long?

Care to respond to the rest of the points brought up in my post?

And isn't all of this contigent on the condition that "it is a shame" for a woman to have short hair?

What if it is not a shame for a woman to have short hair? Isn't it interesting to anyone else that at the first church council, the Jewish Apostles didn't include this hair discussion in their list of things the new Gentile converts must do? Is there a cultural "thing" (theirs or ours) to this discussion that we are not taking into consideration?

For example, women must be silent in church and cannot practice rulership over men-- even the most conservative churches do not adhere to "the letter" of these directives.

Some short-ish hairstyles on some women is actually very attractive and still very feminine.

Just like most (if not all) pants designed for women are distinctively feminine in style, cut, etc.

Newman, was saying she didn't understand why that would be necessary.
No, Im not. I was quoting a Greek Lexicon...That was the words of Greek Authorities.

You were asking "isn't all this contingent on....shame?" etc etc...and the answer is no. Black women's hair is irrelevant.

Paul does not make anything contingent on if something is a shame to someone or if it isn't.

If you look at the definitions I posted for Have Long Hair, "Length" was not one of the definitions. The Definition was "To let it grow" or to have hair that you have allowed to grow..

Second, a black woman has long hair if she does not cut it often. Don't confuse long/short with curly
