It seems to me that they admit to have taken a significant bit of artistic liberty in the film. So to me, only whiners would be "offended" that it wasn't "biblical". lol
It's Hollywood, I don't let it get to me. I know the biblical story. And who knows, maybe God wanted the "inaccuracies" to cause a "buzz" to get more people interested in what the story really says. Let's not forget... God is in control here. If you think about it... if one produced a movie strictly from the biblical text it would probably last 30 to 40 minutes tops. Theologians would be arguing over the interpretation it took. And... people would find it like a children's story. The artistic liberty makes it entertaining... the buzz makes one want to know what all the hype about inaccuracies is about. It's a perfect set up. Go God!
So a bunch of God hating hedonists made a movie that takes a God centered subject and turns it on its ears....
Frankly I would be more surprised if they had made a movie that actually remained true to the spirit of the story as the bible intended.
This is what they ARE. No shocker there at all.
I wont he watching it. but thats the case with most movies. im pretty selective. And even in my selectivity I am as likely to want my 2 hours back as I am glad I spent the time.
Good news for me, this one came right out and showed us what it was. I save my $$$ and my time.

I don't know why everyone gets their panties in a bunch. God's in control.
God isn't in control when you choose to walk in and support a Hollywood film that takes such atrocious liberties with God's Word.
So, Aquila, you are okay that Noah, in this film, is given a hallucinogenic tea, wherein, he discovers he must build an Ark? And you don't mind the film's theme is about men hurting the environment more than the sin they actually committed?
And you aren't bothered that Ham, who was already married in the Bible, is seeking a wife, is lusting after Hermione, but she ain't having any of it because she is barren and is really in love with Shem, wherein, Hopkins steps in, as Methuselah with his magical powers to make her fertile, which in turn, causes her to chase after Shem and have sex with him under the trees? Is Anthony on Meth in this movie? Or is it just Russell with the Hallucinogens? lol
Are you okay that all the animals are in the ark, put to sleep by incense? No wonder they don't mention God, they don't need Him. Break out the incense. LOL!
Are you okay that Noah is going to kill his grandchildren, but only stopped by Hermione who says she needs to sing them to sleep first before he spears them? Righteous Noah turned into a would be murder. Who would have thunk?
I am not bothered by allegory like the Narnia Chronicles, but this is the Bible, Aquila.
I think the 10 Commandments took a few liberties, but they didn't take the film anywhere close to out of context.
1. Noah didn't have to guess or work out what God wanted of him or what He wanted Noah to do. God told him what to do.
2. Noah wasn't fighting to keep people out of the Ark. He was inviting anyone who would listen to come in.
3. All three of Noah's sons had wives on the Ark.
4. There were no stowaways on the Ark.
5. Noah was a good and righteous man. He didn't try to kill his grandchildren. "This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." Genesis 6:9 (NIV)
6. It wasn't Noah's job to preside over the extinction of the human race but to provide a way of salvation for all of mankind. Noah understood that from the beginning.
There is no excuse for any of us, who hold the Word of God with great respect, to make any attempt to waste our money on this film.
We should allow this movie to fizzle out at the box office and send a message to Hollywood. Why don't we care enough to do that? Why are we okay that Hollywood is taking such liberties, saying it's Hollywood and it's okay because of that fact? Well, IMO, it is not okay.
"The irony is that God flooded the earth because human beings were behaving too much like Darren Aronofsky."
And, Aquila, you would hope that people would go find a Bible to read the accurate account of Noah. I would estimate that it won't be as many as you anticipate.
Save your moolah, Bratti. Wait and watch it on Netflix, which I won't be doing either.
Okay, that's all the time I have for this subject. Thanks for your time and attention. Later days!

Good points! It almost seems like Hollywood does this type of thing just to upset bible believers. There was a TV version of Noah some years ago that was somewhat accurate but also kind of goofy. But not nearly as bad as this sounds.
She just said (basically) you're not the boss of her!
Really, I don't mind all the various opinions and reviews. I just resent the guilt trips. Goodness. I will still be a good person after I watch Noah. I might like it, I might not. I'll decide after I watch it. Of course, I could take everyone else's word for it, and no I don't feel like I "have" to watch it--I want to watch it.

Well, that just stinks!

I would feel like, with those in attendance seeing me present, that I am lending my support to this production. I feel I have a responsibility to God not to do that. But you go ahead, you little heathen.
