BTW, I thought the officer did his job well. He did his job and didn't escalate the situation with a bad attitude. Unfortunately, most officers escalate the situation by being a bully with a badge. They, like JD, think law enforcement is above laws and can do whatever they want to make the suspect bend to their will.
Again, you are having a hard time keeping up with me.

How am I not keeping up with you?

This father's attitude made me angry enough to want to tweak his handcuffs or pull up on his hands even just a little bit to purposefully cause more pain to him in hopes it would make him shut up.
That's being a bully with a badge. That's police brutality. And yes, most officers who do that believe they're above the law and don't answer to anyone, certainly not some ordinary citizen Joe.
In this thread, I really am criticizing the father's actions, but I am also criticizing the actions of some law enforcement officers as well.
Take 15 or 20 years off of this gentleman and you take away his learned restraint.
However, his attitude and disrespect for authority is evident and is probably a reflection of the type of person he is.
In Florida, on the right night, under the right circumstances, take 15 or 20 years off this man and his attitude will almost ensure that he never lives to have children.
Then, there will just be lines and lines of conservatives to defend the law enforcement officer who decided to crack this rebel's skull.

Every time I've had a problem with my son's school, no matter what the issue was, a well worded letter to the teacher and the principle (with a copy prepped for the board of education) has gotten me nearly everything I wanted.
Does anyone know what the title of the book in question was?

Disgusting. And by that, I mostly mean the condescending, patronizing, controlling, tyrannical behavior of the board chairman and the cowardly silence of all the other board members.
One person commented on the Youtube video and said, "Need to investigate the school board to find out who the pedophile is." Um...I AGREE! Seriously, this is great material for starting off a Law and Order:SVU episode.
The most telling component was that no one would read the book aloud, and yet they expected children to read it. I wonder if they read excerpts aloud in class?
This reminds me of the time my mother typed out all the curse words from a book the school was having the children read and do a report on.
She stood in front of the School Board and started reading the list of curse words. They said, "Mrs. *******, You can't say those words here!"
She responded, "Why not? You are forcing the school children to read it."
I thought the Dad seemed a little out of line, but having him arrested was way out of line. It will be interesting to see what comes of this. And they really didn't give him much time to make his case. They acted like ho hum, who cares, NEXT!
