If so, the Lord got me a house 2 blocks from one of their locations and I lived there for over a year and never even checked it out and here I've been searching for a church for years. Just wow.

I have never been to one of their churches. They are a Oneness pentecostal group that started in China (though I believe some of their US congregations are multi-ethnic).
I heard they believe you must be baptized face forward in an actual river or stream (living water) but not sure.

Apparently they also believe in infant baptism.

apparently Jesus had the custom of leaving his home and going into the Synagogue on the Sabbath. Was he the only one?
Why was there a crowd on the Sabbath listening to Jesus, when they were supposed to be at home?
|
When the commandment to rest on the Sabbath was given, it was an instruction to rest. There was no commandment given for them to fellowship, or to go up to the Tabernacle. By the time the synagogues had been built, the laws had been changed from the original commandment, and the tradition came throughout the years after the original commandment, but was not part of the original "rest" instruction that the Lord gave Moses.

Sabbath is for resting from work and also a "holy convocation" (KJV) or "sacred assembly".

Re: Sabbeth Keepers
For what it's worth, you interpret "sacred assembly" as a bunch of believers getting together physically, when it could be interpreted that they are each alone at home, assembling spiritually. I might even argue that that is inferred, since it does not say "...and a sacred assembly." (but i would have to lexicon it out first)

Re: Sabbeth Keepers
well, in the same vein as i believe that a Church can be made of Living Stones, yes.
But like i said, i'd wanna lex it first--doesn't the syntax there indicate that "sacred assembly" is a metaphor or restatement of "Sabbath of complete rest," as no "and" or some other conjunction is inserted?

Re: Sabbeth Keepers
It's a day off, family time.
So if the guy takes off work and goes fishing, leaving the wife and kids at home, was it really family time?
