You are asking the wrong question. It doesn't matter what the Holy Bible says about it but what the UPC and WWPF say!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

The Bible references facial hair at different places in the scripture. By these references, we can infer that the Messiah had facial hair (beard), since they plucked it off his face. We also know that Aaron the High Priest had facial hair, since the scripture refers to the holy oil that runs down his beard. There are no scriptures, laws, or commandments that are against a holy man having facial hair. Our position against it is mostly based in cultural tradition passed down through since and holy people, who saw it as a sign of worldliness in their generation. I respect the tradition and never intend to have a beard or mustache, however I don't view it as a sin issue. Our church and pastor doesn't preach or teach against it, but generally speaking most align with the tradition that has been passed down to us. Our church is UPC.

Re: Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.

The New Testament does not mention if Christ had facial hair or not. Nor does it say his beard was plucked.
