There was a time when immigrants cherished their heritage, yet melted into the fabric of the country. New Age tolerance no longer allows this. We are told to coddle them now.
President Bush is a joke for wanting to grant them amnesty. He is selling us out. This is a huge drain on vital infrastructure that TAXPAYERS provide.

the elderly get such a pitiful amount to live on its unreal.The way the economy is dog food is too expensive for Grandma.Grandma is having to pick cans.Shame oh for shame.

WHo says Americans are too proud to do these jobs? Used to be most construction workers around my area were Americans...Mexican and European and any other...now they are mostly illegals. It's NOT that Americans suddely stopped wanting to do those jobs...it's that NOBODY was enforcing the laws to begin with and these employers realized they could hire illegals and get away with it for less money....

If they were legal they would all draw SS when they retire...can bring their family members into the US and they can also draw SS or welfare if they needed (if they lost a job or were disabled or retired)...people think the increase tax revenue is going to fix things, but according to DA they are already paying taxes!

And I addressed the amnesty issue or the issue of making them legal. I didn't see that his initial thread was about deporting them, but I don't favor deporting them.
However we do need to do something about businesses hiring illegals because the more they see they can do it the less they are going to hire citizens
