The preterist is saying that God(metaphorized/LIED) to the prophets from day 1 of their prophecies. Then God allowed the many centuries of Jews all the way to the time of Christ to believe the same LIE.
These prophets NEVER even insinuated that the 'future church" would replace the Jew in these prophecies.
Therefore it is the preterist VS the prophets in these arguments.
And trust me...the preterists will lose this debate with the prophets miserably.
That is why I take these verses literal and DARE NOT try to "metaphorize"(Lie) and say they meant something else to the actual O.T. reader.
The preterist believes that these Jews were under a false impression of a future restored Israel for at least 500 years.(then they get bent out of shape when we say they thought the "last days" prophecies of Jesus' coming were misunderstood)...LOL

I challenge you to find one preterist that believes in a "Gentile Church" past, present or future.
Once you have exhausted your time in futility, show me one prophet or Apostle that even proposed a "Gentile Church" past, present or future.

Bowas, please consider the source. This is the same Sean who proved in the eschatology section that he had not the foggiest idea what he was talking about when it concerned eschatology. The same Sean you created an entire thread with information cut and pasted off the internet, all of which he never took the time to examine before posting. The same Sean, who brought Gail Riplinger to defend a 17th century translation of the Bible, and the same Sean who places all Apostolic elders (who have past on to their reward) in burning flames because they taught tithing. Sean, wouldn't know Preterism or Classical Dispensationalism if they were 50 lb dumbbells and they fell on his head.

Yeah. I'm trying to get a grasp on how he comes to his conclusions, but so far it's evaded me.
He did give me a couple of rules, then he seemed to have contradicted himself then claimed the rules can change.
I will continue as Peter Falk in Columbo and try to crack this case.
Usually one comes to their conclusions based on a set of parameters or rules, that while they may incorrect or need some adjustments, still there would be a set of guidelines.
So far, his rules are kind of willy-nilly, or appear to be so.

He believes the leaves for the healing of the nations and the healing waters are literal. So in heaven we may get sick we have medicine.

I guess we cannot stray too far from the leaves or that water, otherwise we might sick and maybe die?
Interesting as I thought we would be immortal at that time. I guess we will be, provided of course we keep eating the leaves and drinking the water.
I was of the notion, the Holy Ghost was that Living water, but I am still learning.

What about the Revelation 5:6? Is the lamb having seven eyes, seven horns, with its throat gashed open, be sitting on the throne? Yet, if you read Revelation 5:6 it says the seven eyes, and seven horns are the seven Spirits of God which go forth into all the earth. But don't you worry, Sean will be here to teach us.

I'm trying to recall the rules.
I think they were as follows.
1.) If they proceed from the body, they are to be taken as literal.
2.) If they are merely touching the body, such as "treading in a winepress" it is to be taken as symbolic.
Note: Rules are subject to change depending on the rule makers take on it.

I told you the rules of interpreting the book of Revelation was this.....
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Now, if you just metaphorize what Jesus said here like this.....
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall LITERALIZE these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall LITERALIZE from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.....
You will do just fine my friend, then have a blast metaphorizing the entire book!

I don't follow you here. As I recall, you don't literalize everything, so I am seriously trying to get understand your method. Something I can use to see what you see when you read it.

What method?
Is there some kind of method to make sure the Book of Revelation is saying what we read?
Like this....22 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
My method is to believe the words I am reading as literal as possible, not in any way attempting to change it to appear to be saying something else.
I guess I take this more seriously than you, my friend.......
I can only suggest you believe what you read and understand literally, as much as you can also.
