We can believe in Christ and Him crucified and the Lord not even know us.

Matt 7:21-27

You can believe those things and reject what the apostles taught. Jesus said we must believe on Him the way the apostles taught us to. And John said if we do not hear the apostles, we don't know God, and that's how we know the spirit of error. S,o it's a little bit more than professing Christ and Him crucified.

Just because I acknowledge that as being a basis for recognizing a church doesn't mean I believe it that is all there is. One thing that I found out about other churches outside the world of "we have it they don't" was that they were not all as shallow as we liked to think they are. There are about as many nonspiritual, percentage wise, in any and all churches.

That may be true, but that is not an issue either. the bible clearly says there is more to the foundation than Christ and him crucified. There is the teachings of the apostles. And just because a church understands that does not mean they have the attitude "we have it and they don't."
