Re: the blood of young children

Modern day slavery was mentioned in a post above. I remember hearing a preacher in the late 80's or early 90's state that human slavery would make a comeback in the last days. I hadn't thought about it much since until I read votivesoul's post above. The preacher was preaching on Revelation 18 and pointed out the following concerning the merchants of the earth and their weeping over the fall of Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots, because no one was buying their merchandise any longer...
Revelation 18:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
I was a new convert back when I heard this and I remember wondering how a global slave trade could ever make a comeback in our modern world. Well, now we know.

Maranatha.

Slavery making a comeback? It has been thriving in some shape or form everywhere on earth. Illegal immigration is kept alive and well, because they will work for coolie wages. Keeping people at the level of poverty is also slavery. As far as sex trafficking of children that is as old as time, and as long as it is profitable there will be a market. This country is entering her her slide into total depravity. Sex trafficking of children and the idea of Pizzagates will become more prevalent.

Revelation 11:1-18 is quoting Jeremiah. It is pointed to Jereusalem the same way it was meant for Jereusalem during the time of the prophet. That is what the writer is trying to get across to his Diaspora Judean readers. Obviously not meant for every moment in history. Since the writing of the Revelation, we do have instances of slavery being conducted, and therefore why consider the verse to have any special meaning now? It would make the book meaningless especially to the ones it was originally meant to reach.

Good points.

I was just pointing out the context in which I heard a preacher speak of slavery making a comeback in the United States.
