Re: Hurricane Irma
Not sure why they haven't opened all 4 lane interstates coming out of there.
Everything online that I've seen has a lot of traffic coming out, but nobody coming in, it only makes sense to at some point, in some areas, to open all lanes to come out, IMO
Keeping you in prayer Elder B.

Forget the chickens, we will be stuck in the traffic getting out. People will be stuck in cars. Vehicles breaking down on the road. It is looking pretty sketchy for us. Today they lock down the bridges. No boats getting out. Prayer is the only way out of this. I have a full tank of gas, but that won't help me get far. Not with my car. 145 mph wind storm? Ever use a leaf blower? Well, we are the leaves. Jesus holds the blower. I've always been in His hands.

Plus you can't find gas anywhere, paired with anxious kids (one of which has issues with long car rides). Not to mention the cost to leave and the uncertainty of where it's actually going. We're gonna hunker down here. The church is open as a shelter also, so we can go there if it's looking too bad. Suppose to hit us Sunday night."

I agree.
Honestly, I'd be tempted to breach any barricade and begin traveling down the opposite side of the interstate. What are they going to do, stop me and arrest me? If they arrest me, they have to incarcerate me in a place with some reasonable safety. And if I had my entire family with me, they'd have to arrest both me and my wife and take our children to someplace safe also. I mean, all the legalities can be figured out later. Getting out... on open highway or the back seat of a cruiser, either way. That would be my objective. lol
And who knows, if one breached to the other side of the highway and thousands began taking that route to get out, what are the authorities going to do? Could you see the headlines? "Florida state authorities block thousands trying to escape deadly hurricane." It would be political suicide, and the possible lawsuits that could result could bankrupt the state. lol
Those are just my initial thoughts after reading your post.

Re: Hurricane Irma
Glad you are getting out Bro. EB! This is a monster of a storm, and the storm surge sounds unbelievable - 14 feet! Wow. Praying, praying, praying for everyone! Do you have a destination in mind Bro. EB?

Our whole street is staying, my husband just doesn't want to leave, the trip out is arduous and he is not well. Thank you for your prayers.

Will ask the Lord for a special hand of protection over you and your husband as you stay. I understand the horrible ordeal of trying to drive out, especially if he is unwell. How close are you to the coastline?
