Thank you, Raven. This is very interesting, I'm surprised that there was not more PCI influence in my area being that they were HQ in Dallas? I do remember the Winsett song books.

Red face

This is such neat information. Since my background is PAJC , most of this is brand new to me. Even though my parents were saved 70 yrs ago this part of Apostolic history was not known or perhaps not acknowleged.

Thanks to those of you who share.......my pastor as a young child was B.D. Urshan, younger brother of Andrew.

Can you share what ABI taught regarding the friends of the bridegroom doctrine, I believe that's what SG Norris called it.

To all:
Sorry for the delay in getting the PAJC manual scanned and posted, Jeanie started it and her computer crashed, I think scanning it fried the mother board or something, spent 1 hour on the phone with HP and it still won't work, so I am sending the laptop back to HP.

They were really old books. Born June 30, 1950. I missed WWII, but I do remember Dwight D. Eisenhower as my president.

Keith I heard about this doctrine too.I'm quite sure we discussed it in Bible school,no not ABI.
It seems to me that the idea was held that all those who had experienced full gospel salvation(Acts 2:38 ) were the Bride.
All OT saints and those that had not received the Holy Ghost but had repented of their sins were considered the friends of the bridegroom.
And those who made it through the tribulation were servants of the Bride.
Not quite sure about all the details I guess I should have paid better attention to that discussion.
It seems I also heard the theory taken from somewhere in the Psalms that the universe will be populated by the Nations that are saved during the Millennial.

I only went to ABI for one year. That was 1956/1957. In Bro. Norris' doctrine class he taught us that there were three groups of people in the world. These groups are the holy, the righteous, and the wicked. He taught that the holy people were those who completed the three steps of Acts 2:38 plus those who were called "prophets" (had the Holy Spirit) in the Old Testament. The holy folks went to Heaven at the rapture. The righteous were all those who lived up to all the light they received. These righteous folks would receive eternal life at the Great White Throne Judgment of Rev 20:11-15, Matthew 25:31-46, Daniel 12:2-3) and would dwell in the new earth. The wicked were those who made no attempt to serve God and were lost. There is a chart available at
http://home.att.net/~jrd/Where_Are_the_Dead.gif
which shows this. Initials like H (holy), R(righteous) and W (are used). I think this is the way G.T. Haywood taught it. My pastor, F.E. Curts) taught it similarly but taught that the righteous would go to Heaven not the new earth.

This is some of Bishop G.T. Haywood's teaching on that.

The Second Resurrection.

According to the inspired word of God the resurrection of the
"blessed and Holy" is completed a thousand years before the second
resurrection. It is from this point that we are obliged to note the
difference between partakers of the two resurrections.
After the thousand years expire "the rest of the dead" (those who
did not come forth in the first resurrection) both righteous and
wicked, live again and are made to stand before God. It is then that
Jesus separates them as a shepherd divideth the sheep from the goat
according to Matt. 25:31-46.
In this resurrection is included all the righteous men of all
ages who walked in all the light that they were given. It is my candid
opinion that all heathen, Israelites, Christian professors who have
never heard the true gospel of Christ and those who die during
the millennium, walking in the light of their times will be given
eternal life at the last resurrection.
Many righteous people have died without the Holy Ghost and
the question has been asked: "Where will they come in?" They shall be
given eternal life in the last day. They shall inherit the New
Earth where life eternal reigns because "there shall be no more death.
If we desire to take part in the first resurrection we must be
filled with the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. It
is the church of the First-born that takes part in the first
resurrection. To enter into that Church, which is his body, we must be
baptized into it by both water and the Spirit. (See John 3:5; Rom.
6:3-5; 1 Cor. 12:12, 13; Gal. 3:26-28.
The time for the first resurrection is at hand. Are you
preparing to meet the Bridegroom? You must get oil within your vessels
and have your lamps trimmed and burning. Soon shall we hear the
midnight cry - "BEHOLD, THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH."
