Actually, I did not presume that. It just appeared to me that you were placing HG leading in a position over the word of God. I have seen a lot of people do that over the years and the results are always disastrous.
I certainly need the Lord to help me keep any His laws and don't have the capacity to do so on my own. I agree with you on that 100%!

If they believed the Old Testament, they would be Christians....

I think you better qualify that statement! Because it can't stand on it's own!

Sure... he Old Testament fortold of the coming messiah, but they didn't believe it. They rejected Christ. Had they believed the Prophets, they would have come to Jesus and would have become Christians... because they didn't believe what the Old Testament said, they remain Old Covenant Jews. No one was saved under the Old Testament.

"The Old Testament fortold of the coming messiah, but they didn't believe it"
They believed in the coming Messiah, but they didn't recognize Jesus as being the fulfillment of the scriptures for sure.

Baptism in Jesus name wasn't revealed until ( Acts 2:38). How could you be a christian before that?

And this is why they got mad at Jesus, he was plain about who he was... and they still rejected him. In rejecting Christ, they also rejected the Old Testament.

This is what you said. What you said could be misunderstood as saying that the N.T. was not necessary to become a christian.
On this site you better say it and make it plain or they will be all over you.
