LOL!! This same little brother that I mentioned has always been a quiet one...if he didn't like the others I'd say he was adopted.

Anyway, back in the day that the entire church would attend youth service, they usually had bake sales after.

One Friday night we started out for home and realized that the little man wasn't with us. When we went back, Jimmy was sitting quietly at the table where we had left him.

And it seems like I recall hearing the story (I was too young to remember) that one night we pushed an empty baby buggy to church...my brother, Richard, was asleep in his bed.

Re: I remember when...

In the little Apostolic Assembly church I was born into, they would have prayer in the middle of service. As a youngster I felt that I should go up and pray too. When everybody went back to their seats I stayed there kneeling and my family was so proud of me that I was getting a touch....then they saw that I was sleeping and my mom was embarrassed that she had to go and carry me back....my first "slain in the Spirit" experience, GLOORAAAAY!!!!

Re: I remember when...

Here's some of the young people that attended the church in Dewar, OK about 66 years ago. This church is now the one pastored by Matthew Martin the Oklahoma Dist. Supt. of the UPCI. A postage stamp size town with one of the oldest and largest churches in the District.
The one on the left is my mother and the other two still attend there all these many years later. Just remembering some of my Pentecostal heritage.

Re: I remember when...

I remember when almost every Sunday in the summer was church picnic time in Flushing park.

There was always so much food and the men played baseball...it was such fun.
