If you want to be a friend to your pastor

I think you can be a friend to a pastor about the same way you can be a friend to anybody else.

After all, pastors ARE in fact people too.

I will add that the very moment that a pastor moves outside of the Word my allegiance ends. There was a time when I would have been more accomodating, but no more.

Also, pastors must be approachable. Ministry should not hide behind a fortress of assistants. Sheep need to be around the shepherd.

This doesn't happen in country churches... in country churches they just lock their doors and pull their blinds

(and I can say that because I've been " ministry " and have great respect and love for it. )

I appreciate this thread though... I do think preachers are misunderstood sometimes. They aren't all high and holy, they are men/women and they are well aware of that.
