Uh, little help please....
Please don't think I am backslid, or gone off the deep end, or given over to heresy, but let me ask you a question.
I spent several hours today studying the tabernacle and the typology of it, how the altar represents repentance (dying out to sin), the brazen laver represents baptism, and the Holy of Holies symbol;ized the presence of God, now available to us thru the infilling of the Holy Ghost since the veil was rent while Jesus was on the cross......
when suddenly a thought hit me.
After the altar and the laver, there was the Holy Place containing the menorah, the incense, and the shewbread. So, it was possible to enter the Holy Place without going into the Holy of Holies.
Does this have any relevance to our typology?

Re: Uh, little help please....
I will really have to think about this before I can answer brother.

Bro, I'm not trying to answer your question, but the OT Tabernacle was a shadow of Christ. Just remember that early in the morning your shadow doesn't look much like you at all, but as the sun gets higher your shadow looks more and more like you. When the sun is directly overhead, and you are standing in your shadow, it looks exactly like you.

Probably not to our typology. But you may on to something.
You are just one step away.

Re: Uh, little help please....
Is this too deep or too shallow for the great minds to bother with?
I am serious, people.
Thanks, Bro. Larry, for responding.
Still thinking, cneasttx?

Re: Uh, little help please....
Are you asking if we have to stop at the Holy Place, or that are we allowed into the Holy of Holies?
Through repentance, baptism in water, and baptism of the Holy Ghost?

Re: Uh, little help please....
Definitely not asking if we "have" to stop at the Holy Place, and definitely believe we are allowed to enter the Holy of Holies.
I was always taught that:
the altar=repentance
the laver=baptism
the Holy of Holies=Spirit infilling.
Please understand, I have always believed and taught as a "3 stepper", but this kinda puts a different light on things, doesn't it?
Howard Goss may have been right......

So we have access to the Holy of Holies by faith alone?

No, no, no.
Still two commands and a promise; repent, be baptized, and you SHALL receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
But if the "Holy" (separated for God's service) place is available before the Holy of Holies.......
