I like Sean Hannity-- finding him to be the most sensible of the conservative talking heads.
Well there is some truth to some claims of victimization, by blacks, whites, hispanics, natives-- but discipline and personal responsibility will TODAY in most cases help one to overcome.
However, it is hard to see yourself on a level playing field when your perception is that of one looking up a hill.

I agree. My posistion is that everybody needs to spend less time talking about their victimhood and more time talking about what we can all do to fix things... as individuals.... not what the government should do.
That is the real key.

Didn't I agree that I hope the Democrats lose? I thought I did.
Well the phrase "it's their's to lose" normally means that they are in control right now, and should only lose if they really blow it.
But I understand you now.

I'm not sure what I'm doing to mess up the quotes, so it's hard for me to stop. Please excuse my ignorance and vote for me anyway!

I agree, but when you work with so many variations and quirks you keep going round in circles!!!! Where are the answers? Only tolerance as a real Christian and sometimes that is hard.
I'm not a GWB supporter but to equate Bob Jones Un. (which I also don't support) with Wright's inflammatory comments is completely different. I may see the position against interracial 'relationships' as mis-informed and ignorant but I know many people of color that feel the same way. It is not always for bigotry that many take this stance.
For Obama to sit in Wright's church for 20 years and to claim that he never heard Wright make his remarks.....he must think we're smoking crack. On some level there is an attitude of acceptance.
There is a certain level of acceptance of Wright's rhetoric, based on the listener's perception of the speaker's experience. There is an even greater level of acceptance if the speech includes elements that mirror your own experiences.
Why were 8,000 "successful" black folks on their feet and applauding this sermon? It's not because this church is filled with 8,000 hateful "Christians".
The Bob Jones incident is just one reason why 8,000 people found elements that mirror their experience in Wright's inflammatory sermon.
Wright and faggot-khan may be connected, but their "distrust" of the American govt have different roots. This is why I don't consider Wright to be racist.

Reason: word choice

Do you think Wright is 'hateful'?
I do agree that it is possible to take the same stance for different reasons. I am NOT defending BJU but what was the reason for their stance on interracial relationships? (This is a sincere question)
