A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

I think it is based on income. If he made $3,000 last year, he should be eligible for the rebate.

Re: Stimulus Checks Going Out Early
We have not received ours yet. I'm hoping to get it soon as I just started a job as an office assistant and really could use some more clothes! Does anyone know how they determine who get's their checks first?

It is determined by the last 2 digits of the primary taxpayer's ssn and how you got your refund this year. If you got it via direct deposit, it should be very soon. If you opted for a paper check, it could be well into July, depending on those last 2 digits. Try www.irs.gov

Ok, that's what I was told earlier. Interestingly enough, we did get our refund via direct deposit and my husbands last two digits of his SS are very low...surprised we have not gotten ours yet.
Thanks for the info Rico!

Try the website. You will be able to find out when you will get the money, and an estimate of how much you will get.

Re: Stimulus Checks Going Out Early
My husband also has a low social # and was expecting ours by now. I called the IRS and they will not be done sending out the direct deposits till tomorrow. So don't despair, if people with #'s higher than yours have already gotten their return. If you are having it direct deposited it should come in by tomorrow.
