Go through the old Oneness Pentecostal writings and check out what they belived. Look at the writings of AD Urshan, John Deering and others. Look through some old photographs.

You will see that those who are being called "Liberals" here are the real descendants of the founders of the OP movement. The "cons" didn't really get their start until around WW2.
Sorry, I should have explained myself better. From my perspective, I grew up in an ultra-con culture, in a world where certain things were just not questioned... ever... if they were questioned, the closest you ever got to an answer was "have you prayed about it". So to say that the "liberals" are not used to being questioned by the ultra-cons, just doesn't make any sense from my personal perspective.

Stay, Steve.
Rico the Socialist? Dude, you totally have me confused with Chris Hall.

I decided to make this thread in case my post wasn't seen on the other thread.
Did the Admins ask you to leave?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I think that as the forum continues to be a place more liberal posters come and post, that conservatives will have less and less of a desire to continue to post here. Not slamming AFF. That is just the way it is. There is a time of fighting for doctrine you believe to be right. But eventually the fight is not worth the unending battle on these issues (that coupled with what some feel is disrespect towards doctrine that most consider apostolic). MOST folks are not going to change key doctrines they hold because of a discussion board. So it becomes a fruitless project.
Exactamundo, StMatt. I am surprised that my post to NITW opened up this can of worms with Brother Epley. Maybe it's the scripture I included that has a ring of truth to it or something that's gotten him stirred up. I don't know, but I was just trying to let NITW know he has other options for posting if he's uncomfortable with what he's found here at AFF.

Exactly, personal perspective. It does seem hard to get someone to really listen to our questions sometimes, but that does not mean that others with a different point of view might not. In fact my experience on AFF especially has been just the opposite.I don't believe in labeling anyone, I detest the con, ultra con, liberal terms. And I can say I am fortunate in life outside the forum that my pastors were and are not like that, and they are UPC.
Sometimes pray about it is good advice.

PP, my post on the other thread wasn't even addressed to Brother Epley. It apparently struck a nerve with him though.
