I don't consider myself in the hogpen. The hogpen insinuates a life full of sin and despair. I probably sin less now that I follow God's word and not a culture. It is amazing how easy it is to follow God in love and not out of fear.
I have no doubt that Old Time Pentecost really meant something to those who found their personal awakening during that time period. But you try to say that every generation that follows must have the same experience doesn't work. Every generation must have their own spiritual awakening or all they are doing is following tradition and rules.
I believe in the "confidence in Christ and His ability to keep me in His hand doctrine".
Come on, either you have choice or you don't to leave his hand. I think you are twisting something on this as you know either you can or you can't lose salvation. Has nothing to do with his ability. He is faithful but we have part as well and we choose the leading of the Spirit or the flesh.

Luke, I can walk away any time I want. What's your point?
A Pentecostal lady with uncut hair, no makeup and a dress stands out like the proverbial deer in the headlights at a non denominational charismatic meeting.
The clean shaven Pentecostal man without the jewerly is too old timey for the new improved Pentecostals.
So the first step to being accepted by and fellowshipping with trinitarian charismatics is the dropping of the standard.
Then it's just another step to "well they don't really believe in three Gods, after all it's really just semantics".
And then the use of the name of Jesus in water baptism is not as important as it used to be.
Thanks, but NO THANKS, I'll just stay over here and WATCH the train wreck.
I'm sure Jesus, and likely many other leaders of the "REAL OLD TIME" ways, would have been future train wrecks with those beards of theirs.
"For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and
you say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking,
and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax
collectors and "sinners." (Luke 7:33-34)
Sounds similar to me, anyone that doesn't fit your "view" or "standards"(not necessarily holiness standards) are wrong, not in truth, and headed for... Well you said it.
Do I think there are plenty of people that HAVE lost their way? Sure. Letting go of a standard, a path, a way is not something that should be done lightly. Much prayer, fasting, and studying must be done. The apostles doctrine is what we must seek. Whether it's what we have, or not. Just because "Bro. rev. Bishop President" said it doesn't mean it is correct. We must always keep watch, even as saints as to what we are being (or have been) taught and fed.
I'd Rather Be An OLd Time Christian Than Anything I Know.
Pentecost was doing great when I found it and if I left it she would still be Pentecost. I wasn't a great addition I was the benefactor NOT them. I was the sinner that need saving and I was saved not to improve the church. My addition was a liability not an asset. I am a DEBTOR. A debt will never be able to pay THEY OWE ME NOTHING! It changed me I have no desire to change it.
I am sorry they could not recognize the great potential and talents all of you had what a shame they lost all those assets.
But guess what the church goes on. Your squirt gun will never put out the rays of the Sun or your shovel will never remove the beach.
Rico... oh come on! Oh and it's natural to ask questions or "accuse' one of something. We do it all the time and it's not OP's that alone do it but anyone with a human nature. Also I don't look to accuse anyone of anything it's in the wording that accuses I just respond to such comments of self accusement! Is that a word?
So the only conviction she has is long hair that you don't agree with? What "other" issues are there that mentors or whoever push on her? It's seems a little confusing to me. Also what is the "you don't do as they do, thus left God" that sounds like standards or doctrinal to me. One always has to be protecting of there children but sometimes God deals with children or young people on there own. Then somtimes other people influence them. If she believes that you truly are not doing something right then she has made a decision on some type of belief. Whether right or wrong she is doing what you have let her do and that is have her own convictions.
*sigh*
I don't think you are reading my posts. I said nothing about not agreeing with her convictions. Her and I have discussed several issues all her life. I know what she believes. I don't have a problem with it, even if I disagree with her reasoning.
If she wants to look like Patti Pentecost, I'm not going to fret or stress over that. It certainly beats her looking Gothic or some such strange creature.
If she wants to read her Bible everywhere she goes, including to school, I'm not going to discourage that. It certainly beats her reading about witchcraft and sexual issues.
If she wants to think that what she looks like and the works she does is what saves her, thus leaving others who don't look like she does and do the works she does to be unsaved, THAT is what I have a problem with. It's unbiblical. The other above issues don't go against Bible.
