??? Your joking right? So your daughter(I am assuming still in the house under your authority) has certain convictions yet they drain you because you don't agree with them. So now the mentors are bad and so is the daughter because she doesn't think you stand for the right things because of her convictions. WOW! Thus because it's against what you believe, you want to isolate or reprogram your daughter to your convictions basically or at least get her in a tolerance of what you believe. mmm mmmm mmmm Is your daughter young OR older? This would probably make more sense to me.
Also respect is a matter of context.
I said nothing about her convictions. She doesn't have standards convictions other than having long hair, which I allow her to have. The issue is that she feels I've left God because I'm not standing for issues she thinks I should. She emulates her mentors (which isn't a bad thing, and completely normal behavior), but because I don't do as they do, she feels I've left God.
Weird, because I've lived this way all her 14 years of life. She's never known me to have uncut hair or never wearing pants or anything else like that. So that makes me wonder, who is talking to her and filling her head with that mess?? It's not her mentors!
Funny though...she didn't feel this way nor act this way until going to youth camp for the first time in her life this year. Someone warned me about being prepared...I should have listened.
I'm all for her having HER OWN convictions. She knows this. I've always told her to live by her convictions and her's alone. That's never changed either.

Hope I make it? This kind of thinking is exactly what's wrong with people like you, OP. You think you can actually work your way into Heaven. The Bible is pretty clear about people trying to work their way into Heaven. It ain't gonna happen! I've already made it into Heaven (because of Christ's work on the cross), and am just riding out the rest of my time here on Earth.

I didn't know you believed the "once saved always saved" doctrine.

So the only conviction she has is long hair that you don't agree with? What "other" issues are there that mentors or whoever push on her? It's seems a little confusing to me. Also what is the "you don't do as they do, thus left God" that sounds like standards or doctrinal to me. One always has to be protecting of there children but sometimes God deals with children or young people on there own. Then somtimes other people influence them. If she believes that you truly are not doing something right then she has made a decision on some type of belief. Whether right or wrong she is doing what you have let her do and that is have her own convictions.

Rico, WOW! I can't believe you are OSAS follower! Yikes!
I don't consider myself in the hogpen. The hogpen insinuates a life full of sin and despair. I probably sin less now that I follow God's word and not a culture. It is amazing how easy it is to follow God in love and not out of fear.
I have no doubt that Old Time Pentecost really meant something to those who found their personal awakening during that time period. But you try to say that every generation that follows must have the same experience doesn't work. Every generation must have their own spiritual awakening or all they are doing is following tradition and rules.
