Read the post that I responded to. The good elder broad brushed.
He gave a ultimatum on salvation! Acts 2:38! I don't see what is wrong with that!

If he said UNLESS one repents would you claim broad brushing on that?

Maybe you didn't notice that I bolded this part of his post:

Those that preached saved at repentance now their decendants don't even preach that.

That's what I referred to when I said it was broad brushed. Not EVERYONE who leaves standards continues down the slippery slope that we're all so afraid of.

Well all I can say about most of these posts is that I'm glad God is God, and not anyone else. Sometimes its not our place to judge, the Bible says God will judge fornicators and adulterers, honestly our fleshly carnal minds are way too puny to grasp it all. The other man on cross next to Jesus obviously didn't have time to get baptized and yet the Lord told him he would see him in glory. And mr. gold medals, r u serious? 8?

Br. Eplys broad brush as you call it had NOTHING to do with standards. His post was about the devilish doctrine of saved at repentance. Stop with the smoke screens.

Sigh, let me make it a bit plainer.

Elder said "THE" people who used to preach saved at repentance, "THEIR DESCENDANTS" now don't even preach that. Paraphrase.

Implying that EVERYONE who used to preach saved at repentance, ALL OF THEIR DESCENDANTS now preach a watered down version.

just wanted to say one little thing before i skip off for greener pastures....

I generally agree with the emboldened.... I dont know if I would call it a slippery slope but it sure is a bar of soap i dont want to wash with.

WAAAAAY too many people I know that have left mainline Apostolic churches for "greener pastures" end with the next generation being really good members of bapstist churches or the like.

and I could give you a list of names an arm long. I suspect a lot of those parents are perfectly fine with it. some arent I know that for a fact. but none the less, there is enough of this for me to know it is very real.

You need to re-read your post. You made it about standards when there was no mention of standards. His post was about doctrine.
