Their salvation (or lack there-of) would depend on whether one has an allotment for a "light doctrine" of some kind in his theology.

As to the comparison of Johns disciples, to the disciples of Jesus today - who have indeed heard of the Holy Ghost but claim to experience Him differently - that would be apples to oranges IMHO.

A few years ago I heard Stan Gleason preach on "The Messy Church". In essence, God came to save sinners and they will be in the church. My memory is faulty as to the examples given but it was a great message.
