I can understand the charge for water at a convenience store..you are paying for the cup and straw and such...but the price of a 32 oz ice water is MUCH cheaper than the bottles.

but at this restaurant it was a plain ole glass...couldnt even take it home LOL

This is one family of five whose business would be lost if a restaurant every tried to charge us for water...

We almost always order water.

For a family of 5 you are adding nearly $10 to the bill for not ordering water.

There was a chinese buffet restaurant that we frequented years and years ago.

Our daughter (now 16) was 2 and she ate for free. We went there pretty much every single sunday.

We lived in that area for nearly 10 more years after the day that they charged us 25 cents for her to get a baby ice cream cone from the ice cream machine.

She was of the age that she ate for free but an ice cream cone costs us 25 cents.

That is their choice but the choice we made was ours too.

That was well over a decade ago and we never spent our money there again. That 25 cent ice cream cone costs them a lot of money.

There are certain things you just don't charge for and expect to ever see my business again.

Re: How to Save Money

Buy meat on sale or at mark down (right before they remove it from the shelves) in large quantities. Buy freezer bags and put the meat into meal size portions and freeze.

Also, I try to stay away from processed meats but once in a while I buy some turkey ham. Most stores will shave this for you free of charge. It is MUCH cheaper than buying deli or lunch meat. You can usually get it for 1.19-1.69 a pound or so. You can use this turkey ham in a bunch of ways. In sandwiches, cut up and fried in potatoes, in scalloped potatoes, in split pea soup etc. Portion it out and freeze like the rest of the meat in baggies.

Very good idea. I am now working for an insurance company and if you have good credit and a good driving record you should definitely ask your agent what he/she can do to lower your rates. There are many discounts out there, like good student and driver's training.
