Is the UPCI exempt from operating by the laws of the Kingdom of God?

Some of the issues at PPH may be caused by mismanagement at headquarters, but it may just be the economic slowdown. When money is tight, less people are going to be buying books, tapes, etc. One church I know is recycing/re-using their Sunday School books from past years to use for their current SS classes. Eventually this kinda stuff ends up tricking down financially to PPH in St Louis.

Now you touched a big button there! My wife has been a SS teacher for 3 decades + now. She continually recycles her SS material even though she is given the new stuff but she has seen the HUGE difference in the materials used (for 7-10 year olds) from the old days to the scant supplies that is provided today. The cycling of the materials is about every 3 years and then the same material is pumped out....with less supplies each time. It's too bad that there is nobody on staff to get a little more creative with the teaching program than just recycling the same print and material. So let's face it. The cutbacks began many years ago.

I don't get the issue. They must trim the fat to stay cost effective. The place should be run tight. After all, no one HAS to buy WAP stuff. The value for the dollar is what makes people buy.
And noone is entitled to a position white or blue collar. It is a job after all, and is only as secure as the demand for the services you provide.

Re: More Employee Layoffs at PPH
what are the "laws of the Kingdom of God"?
in my limited understanding...i believe the "kingdom of God" to be a spiritual kingdom...not one of this world.
That would make it very difficult for a man-made club to measure up. I do not believe the U.P.C.I. was created to be the "kingdom of God" here on planet earth.

of course not.
it's being handled incorrectly and they are not UPS or Enterprise Rent a Car, they are a ministry and supposed to be reaching a lost and dying world.....what happened to faith? What happened to trusting God?
Did they outsource that too?

Interesting point but these people that are laid off should have no problem finding other type of call center work.
Whenever you take in money and in return, you give something back, like a book, record, supplies, that is business. Look what they did to the bible Quizzing stuff, they gave that over to person, was that right? They probly did it as a cost savings thing to.

Re: More Employee Layoffs at PPH
To me, the bottom line is, they are men, and the arm of flesh will tend to fail from time to time, since we're all imperfect.
So we're not always going to like the decisions made at headquarters, but I'm not sure that bad-mouthing the leadership on the internet is a good idea either.

Re: More Employee Layoffs at PPH
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will comment. I have heard rumblings for years about how business is conducted at headquarters. I think it is typical of any man made organization and business. That is all it is and must be a business. Decisions have to be made that effect the employees and the bottom line. I would rather see them be fiscally responsible rather than make decisions just on who would been hurt. Of course I would expect each decision to be made compassionately, but ultimately the hard decisions have to be made.
