Well ya all probably won't remember then Drive In Movies.

Roll the window down and hang the speaker inside your car.

The speaker unit had electric heaters built into them too.

Some of us who were not saved back then will remembeer the car got so hot sometimes you did not need to turn the heater on. ;-)

Whoaaa, somebody slap me.

Ungentine is still around, too:

Mercurochrome:

Wikipedia article states that it is no longer sold in the USA because of its mercury content!

You can read about it on straightdope.com

Merthiolate can still be purchased:

Re: I Remember When...

I grew up in a FULL SERVICE GAS STATION

We greeted you at your car, asked if you wanted Ethyl or regular.

Three to Five dollars would fill you tank.

While it was filling we'd wash your windshield, check your oil and other things under the hood. Check the air pressure in your tires and maybe even suggest it was time for us to put on a new set of tires for you.

If it was close to winter and you had 10,000 miles on your engine since your last tune-up you needed new plugs and points or your car probably would'nt start when the first below zero weather arrived.

I remember the full service, too.......We got all of that service and S and H Green Stamps to boot! What fun it was going to "the big city" to choose our rewards.

Anyone remember the slide projectors with the round slide cassette that held about 200 slides?
