Seems that I remember that there were folks who wanted some "one steppers" banned because this is an Apostolic forum and they obviously aren't Apostolic, according to some.
But, doctrines such as "facial hair will send someone to hell" should just be accepted and not challenged?

Oh, I see where you are going with your thoughts! Well, goodness, then I don't know, Michael! What do we do?

Michael, any doctrine can be challenged, it is the "ATTITUDE" in which it is posted that is the issue.

Where do you draw the line?
For the record, I do not believe in muzzling ministry.
I do believe you as an individual have an obligation to find people of like precious faith & teaching to which you can submit.
Holiness & Separation isn't always as clear as one would like to think.

I guess this is where our thought patterns diverge, Ron.
I don't think there is anything that the Bible doesn't clearly state that is necessary for me to keep my salvation.
I think that if a man preaches something not stated in the Bible as necessary for my salvation, he's adding to the Word.
Paul said that if even an angel from heaven preached any other doctrine than HE preached, let that man be accursed.
ANd, I'm not throwing dirt - just stating my opinion.

Good point, Cindy. We should draw back and assess our thoughts and feelings. Sometimes a break is good! I think we all want to be kind and respectful, then get caught up in the passion - as someone said.

What I object, violently, to is that, at times, people can say HARSH things and get away with it, but then when someone comes in defends what they believe just as harshly, they are crucified. Because they've been hurt by the machinery, they think that they are justified in "TRASHING" the things others hold dear.
I understand about people standing up for what they believe. I hope they do. I encourage it, but don't trash and bash and broad brush (I know have been guilty of this, but being here has taught me to weigh my words carefully!!! ) That goes for either side.
I literally HATE the labels. Let's all just be friends and have some lively discussions. Let's stop the bashing on BOTH sides of the coin.
|
I hate labels, as well, but this 'us' and 'them' mentality has been around a long time.
When I was a young'un there were certain Apostolic churches we didn't fellowship with because they weren't Apostolic enough, and it continues today.
I wish it would cease...not sure if it ever will...
Now back into my self-imposed hibernation...
