Another thing that I believe is a problem here too is we are very familiar with each other......it's a good thing, but because of it we also sometimes don't listen to the poster because we already have in our mind what we think they are saying.

I see this happening 9 times out of 10. I'd love to experiment with it sometimes if I could. I bet the same thing could be said by two different people and taken differently because of who said it and not what was being said. Make sense?
There is some truth to that.

For a person to say that a man is going to hell for having facial hair (Just one example) it's plain ridiculous.

If that person said "In an effort to please God, I feel convicted of wearing a beard, and so I won't and I don't think any Christian man should" I have no problem with that.

To say "You're going to hell if you're a man with a beard" that's absolutely ridiculous.
It's ridiculous to you, but some people feel that way. Reading comprehension or not.

I've heard a lot of men, in church, say that they opted to shave as it was an issue of pride for them.

Some feel it's a pride issue for all men.

How did you feel when you had your goatee?

The intense training has been that you are made to respect strangers - it's just the Christian thing to do!!! Not saying that I've never lost my cool, but I try to be careful.

And, yes, the Word does say we work out OUR OWN salvation with fear and trembling.

I agree about the familiarity part. There are certain posters that I started responding to that way. I finally stopped responding to them at all. And am just lately feeling I can post with again. It was my problem not theirs.

I enjoy it when I grow it.

But, here's my point - what doctrines can we allow on here and put our stamp of approval on?

Seems that I remember that there were folks who wanted some "one steppers" banned because this is an Apostolic forum and they obviously aren't Apostolic, according to some.

But, doctrines such as "facial hair will send someone to hell" should just be accepted and not challenged?

Michael, I hope we could discuss this without throwing dirt.
Poster A believes that there are some things that the Bible doesn't plainly state that a man of God preaches is necessary for us to keep our Salvation.
Call it Standards if you will.

Poster B believes that because it isn't plainly stated it isn't needed, poster A responds that there will be a following away from true doctrine & separation & this is just another sign.

Where do you draw the line?
For the record, I do not believe in muzzling ministry.
I do believe you as an individual have an obligation to find people of like precious faith & teaching to which you can submit.

Holiness & Separation isn't always as clear as one would like to think.

Yes, perfect sense!!! I also, from my point of view, THINK I know what that person has in their mind when I don't know - across the Board.

Isn't it funny how the "view point" changes when the same person is under another user name, unbeknownst to everyone else?!! LOL!
