yes.
most OTP would say that the only thing "ole time" about TFT is his age. as a younger minister...less than 40...i appreciate having an "elder" who is not afraid, ashamed, or a whack-O....this is a theological term.
i pray that God grants TFT many more productive years of ministry...he is a voice of fresh vision and perspective.

In my ignorant opinion, I think this is a dumb rule. And I say ignorant opinion only because I don't know why this was made a rule.

i doubt if you'll ever get the "true" answer as to why this rule is there. here are some options.....some UPCI pastors feel like they have a right to know whenever another UPCI preacher is preaching in thier town....some pastors consider it professional courtesy....some pastors just like the power to say "no" or "yes"....who knows.
I do know some churches that have grown because members left a non-UPCI church to come there....and then when a "big-name" UPCI preacher would go preach at that non-UPCI church it would create some chaos.

I could see asking as a professional courtesy ... but as a requirement it's a bit over the top for me.

OTP-in this case-generally are those that make 'standards' heaven or hell. Holiness is another issue. Both sides agree we need Holiness. But Holiness and standards are not the samething. There is NO such thing as Holiness standards. It is Holiness only. Inward Holiness is more important than outward apperance. Hope this cleared it up

Excellent reply from one who has wisdom.

Re: T.F. Tenney at the Journey (Mark Johnston's)
Who is Mark Johnston and what is "The Journey"? If it is a church and MJ is the pastor does someone have a link to their website?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

for the most part this is one of several unenforced requirements/rules.
i think really the ONLY requirement that the UPCI is willing to "go-to-war-over"...is paying dues.

Right on. I join you in that prayer, and so does Bro. Tenney.
