she still does that wierd hicup thingy at the end of each line.
I think she thinks its cute. it bugs me....
I admire her passion for what she does. I still don't like the music--or the singing. She has a good voice, but as you pointed out--several annoying bad vocal habits.
Kari Jobe is a better version of this style, IMO.
I do agree with D4T that some musical styles will hype up the crowd, no matter what the lyrics are--which is no big deal, really--except it can't be mistaken for being 100% spiritual. You'll get the same reaction at a rock concert, because music is very powerful in and of itself.
I'm not objecting to being moved emotionally by music--I just don't think we should confuse that emotion for being moved by the Holy Ghost. Sometimes the two can work in tandem...and sometimes it's just one or the other.

Im not a fan, but if anyone is, good for you. I do recognize there is something here to be enjoyed but as others have said, dont confuse driving rock music (which I happen to like alot both in christian and secular music) for the power of the Holy Ghost.

I think
I think we have been here before. Well I dont mind saying again what I've already said.
Misty is the best Christian Musician bar none in my 35 years of listening to Christian music. When I first accidently discovered her songs on Youtube I was really impressed.
Then when I found out that she prays long hours a day and fasts for many days at a time I was impressed all over again and I realized then why I had been impressed in the first place. It is the work of the Holy Spirit.
Her music has it (almost) all IMO. Deep passionate love for Jesus Christ. Strong holiness teaching and even judgment to come!
She is also a post trib believer and is not ashamed.
Im sure there have been others like her all along in music but as for me I have not found them yet.
I can see what some of you are saying, but if you ever saw her in person and felt the passionate love for Jesus, you would feel differently. I know that she's a person of great faith and prayer. It's just a different style, and I don't usually like repetitive stuff, but having been in service with her I appreciate her alot more.
She would be deeply disturbed by the comments about sounding sensual. That would not in any way be her purpose in singing.
And yes, Kari Jobe is another one of my favorites. She went to ORU with my daughter before she became well known, and led chapel worship alot. She's amazing!
