It is more objective than you think. For instance the highest and lowest scores are thrown out. The highest points are awarded for the personal interview, which I don’t believe is shown, the swimsuit I believe is the lowest point value of the whole competition. The HS baseball team I coach did a fund raiser at the local event that chose the contestant for the state level competition of the Miss America Pageant. The Talents they display and interview count for the majority of the points. At least this is what one of the judges told me about the rules for judging the competition.

What Perez Hilton did was typical of that jerk, but the contest takes into account that you may have an idiot judge and his score should not have counted since the lowest one is tossed out. But that doesn't mean others didn't score her low because of her response.

So "The Don" (Donald Trump) finally decided to speak about the pageant furor.

Not surprisingly he congratulated the winner - and said she really won too, it wasn't because of PH's score against Ms California.

He also defended Ms California's answer ... also not surprising, as he said he's received thousands of mail with the majority supporting Ms California.

BTW ... anyone see Miley Cyrus' twitter comments about this? Yet another reason to keep my daughter away from her music, movies and television show.

So by your logic there should be no women judges either? That certainly doesn't support the "it's objective" argument if you think the judges need to be sexually attracted to the contestants

May have a point, but it's normal for a women to not be attrracted to a women, but for man to not be is unnatural.

Donald Trump has broken his silence

The owner of the Miss Universe franchise finally addressed the scandal surrounding his Miss USA pageant to FOX News Thursday, saying that he has received thousands of calls and letters, the majority of which support Miss California's comments on gay marriage.


But Trump defended Prejean as well, disagreeing with Perez Hilton's assertion that it was the worst answer in the history of the Miss USA pageant.
"Miss California has done a wonderful job, that was her belief ... It wasn't a bad answer, that was simply her belief."


Trump added that Prejean's question was "a bit unlucky," arguing that no matter how she answered the question "she was going to get killed."

Miss Connecticut Monica Mary Pietzrak, called Prejean a "wonderful girl" but said she should have been more conscious of the national audience.

In other words "I would have lied"...being conscious of the national audience, which clearly do not ALL support gay marriage means she should not have expressed her views but lied. Sad

Another girl said she wore her religion on her sleeves...well clearly all contestants wore something on their sleeves...perhaps their anti-religious views or their PC views
