Ray and Lillie Bell Agnew say there's a secret to their 75 years of marriage, but they think nobody will believe what it is.
"We have never had a quarrel," said Ray, 95. "We've always talked things out and tried to serve God."
"We've had some disagreements, but we've never gone to bed mad," said Lillie Bell, 93. "People won't believe us, but that's the truth."
Whatever the reason, their marriage has worked. The Bridgeton couple celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on Saturday, surrounded by family and friends at the New Life Pentecostal Church in Bridgeton.

Whew....YES!!!!! But it was worse when we were just married. We've finally learned that it isn't bad to "agree to disagree", and no one really has to win.
Jeff and I couldn't be more opposite, but we've always been very committed to working things out, no matter what. We never made the big "D" an option, and we agreed it would never be mentioned in this house.
Also, as Sis. Alvear mentioned, it's important to resolve issues quickly, and not go to bed angry.

My wife and I will get in a fight in a second. Ha ha. Her nature is to fight first and ask questions later. We never stay mad though. So maybe that isn't really a fight.
