Well, I dunno. I do use wireless, just got a new Belkin N router, but it's been pretty flaky so far, and I'm just across the hall from it. Downstairs, eesh! The PS3 gets 25-30% signal strength at best, and drops connection all the time (when you can connect at all). Maybe just a bad router, and I'll get in touch with Belkin about it, of course. Just sayin', wired will be more reliable and faster (typically).
I'd go Cat 5 (Cat 5e now actually). I'm forever rebooting the Linksys with a desktop and usually about 3 laptops going some evenings. Besides, the government satellite mind control waves get garbled with too much EM going on in the house. The ice maker on the fridge almost voted third party last election.
Did you start this thread only to abandon it? Did you fall in the newly dug basement and can't get out? Did the sress of building a home finally take its toll and you are now institutinalized and they won't give you access to the internet?
He's busy pulling Cat 5, cut him some slack!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Hahaha, you guys are ALL nuts! I was away for a mini-vacation and had to take care of a lot of stuff when I got back home Mon night.
I have more pics to post soon.
Great tips from some of you BTW...Cat 5, nope, I'm wireless and love it! (Apple Airport Extreme and it never drops) My PS3 does have a lower signal than everything else so I may run a cable for that.
As a lot of you know, I'm quite the video/audio nerd, so I will be running my audio cables and video cables during construction and I am looking at a few products that will enhance it and possibly have a central core for everything ($?)
The tip about marking where cables are run even if not currently using them was priceless as I had never thought of that before.
Si Si Juan, I HAVE to see your man cave/media room someday, although I'm not quite sure if I wouldn't become possessed with the spirit of jealousy!!
Our basement walls are being poured today and framing starts Monday!!!!!
I have a 15 X 30 space in the basement that I purposely did not have windows installed, as I let my wife (let, hahaha) designate every other room, that room is mine to do whatever my monkey brain decides...hmmm, I wonder what that will be, he he he! Lets just say, I plan on giving CC1 a run on his money for the man-cave award
