When the conservatives come up with a uniformed dress code then and only then can you all spit fire and venom with credibility.

What's your church's excuse?

If I were to need a doctor, I'd KNOW (if they are dressed per "standards") who to run to. When they are walking around dressed any ol' way they chose, you can't tell one from the other (some- or most times).

Along those lines, I've always used this example (and pardon me that it works best with, but not exclusively with, women): if you desperately needed prayer at a car accident and two women were walking your way and one was dressed "worldly" and the other like an Apostolic who holds to the stricter standards of dress, who would you run to first?
Please don't assume I think outward dress saves anyone, but there is a place for it in the world. (I'm not even saying the more strict dresser is the best one to have pray for your need!) There may not be time for someone to see your fruit, even though I think that is the best indicator to the world of who is a Christian.

Just a thought.
The car accident scenario is just plain goofy!! I dare say if you were hurt bad enough, you'd be glad for anyone who calls on the name of Jesus!!

We were behind a horrible wreck a couple years ago on the way to Tulsa and the people flipped their car about five times. Eddie had to talk to the police, but I got to go over and minister to the hurt people. I was in jeans; do you think they cared? I got to pray for them and comfort them and they didn't care what church I was from!

Sherri,
That was pretty much a wide spread analogy. At least it has been in our area. LOL!

For me, I'm going to follow the standards because that's where I am right now. God hasn't changed my surroundings, so........ That's how I see it. I don't look down on people that don't hold them. I see things slowly changing.

What do you mean? That they would have told me to take a hike if there had been a "Pentecostal looking" woman coming up behind me??? I don't think so.

Uhm, what the scenario does not really tell is that a good many sinners have no idea how a conservative Pentecostal dresses. Only those who have been exposed to conservative Pentecost would know. With that in mind, I have to honestly say most folks in such a circumstance just want prayer, IMO.
