Including ex-members? They are the horse's mouth also.

It's never wise to get only one side of a story.

If you prefer going to the horse's mouth then why did you ask that question on here???

Like I said I'm getting both sides... nothing wrong with asking a question and then researching the other side.

That's fair, but you have to consider that if an organization is corrupt, they aren't going to just share that with anyone who asks.

Especially when they don't think they are corrupt. Doesn't mean they aren't.

Well if you just want to "get" both sides - then don't argue with them about it - just say thanks and be done with it.

Reminds me of a great line in "Cats and Dogs". A talking cat disguised himself as the boss in a wheelchair, and wheels into a room and announces "It's me, your boss, not an evil cat trying to take over the world."

Re: Homestead Heritage

Time has revealed a lot of things...and will reveal much more...when any group secludes themselves and has SECRET doctirnes that it takes YEARS to go from one level to another to even find out does not sound like the first church...However YOU asked the question...I ALREADY know what HH tells you...been there and done that...

YOU my friend will NEVER find out anything EXCEPT what they chose to tell you...find some that have lived there ask them...and that does not mean they do not have many good things because they do...they really do! However when put into the balance...well that is another story...

Re: Homestead Heritage

In my college days, I worked in a jail. For 16 months I rubbed shoulders with some very terrible criminals. Some of them had done heinous things to their fellow men. Why you ask would I bring that up in a thread like this? Well, having spent time with people who were guilty of terrible offense, I found some commonality among them that speaks directly to something being said here.

Never once did I find a guilty criminal who would tell you they were guilty. That doesn’t mean they were unwilling to talk about their crime. In fact they either would explain in great detail why they were forced into the act, most often by the person they harmed, or they would explain to you that they were innocent and being persecuted by the legal system for a crime they did not commit.

In 16 months, I never once heard “the horse’s mouth” tell me they were guilty and deserving of the judgment against them.

Further, our legal system provides a great path to gaining the truth. Among those however, there is a conspicuous absence. That being the proverbial “horses mouth”. If the “horses mouth” were a real source of factual information, there wouldn’t be a single person in prison today. Each trial would start with the Horse On The Stand, they would say they were innocent and the trial would be over.

I submit to all concerned that going to the “horses mouth” not be considered in situations like this. However, as the bible instructs seek “Wise Council”

I believe that has been provided.
