Re: Evangelist Dobson parts with Focus on the Fami
I haven't been able to hear his program since I moved but I always enjoyed his radio program.
I think he has been moving towards this decision for awhile now.
Many churches are nearly destroyed because the pastor refused to step down until there are nearly no one left in the church.
I will miss hearing his voice, but I have been missing hearing him now for awhile anyway.
Did you know he had Donna ?? my mind just went blank on her last name, but she is so funny, yet she gets her point across.

He had a heart attack years ago and it is his radio voice we associate with the ministry. If he died tomorrow, whos voice do they have? There are a lot of people that want the station silenced.

I appreciate Mr. Dobson and his heart for the family, and the way he's handled his own resignation. His letter is well-written and thoughtful. I especially liked how he said he realized he was unwittingly hindering the ministry by staying on. Right now I'm attending a church were the pastor refuses to step down - and he is much older than James Dobson is - he has overstayed and is causing damage to the church. I think that Dobson has been wise to realize that and take steps to retire before damage can be done.

Maybe a good old fashioned uprising is in order. Gather your pitchforks and flaming torches and surround his home at night. He should get the message.....
Re: Evangelist Dobson parts with Focus on the Fami
Somehow, I don't think that would be the proper way to handle the situation.
Over the years he's manipulated the church and church board to a place that they will not cross him - in anything. He is the final authority. It's a very hard, sad situation.

He has yet to meet "Brave Sir Randy". LOL
But I have to ask the question I would ask anyone in your described situation. Why are you still there?
