Re: Understand How Metrosexual Your Worship Leader
I remember reading something that a woman said one time about the men she would date. She refused to date a man who:
had longer hair than she did,
who wore more jewelry than she did,
who smelled better than she did.
maybe that was her definition of sissy or effeminate

I don't know about washing dishes but 2 Kings 21:13 in the KJV has God saying, "I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down." That sounds like He's talking about a man washing or drying a dish.

When I think of manly, I think of a combination of:
John Wayne
Mike Holmes
and a bit of James Bond.

I just didn't want that to be ruled out as a purely feminine activity.
Something funny...my husband smoked two briskets today, and used some new metal catering pans to catch the drippings. Normally he uses the disposable aluminum roasting pans, but he acquired these pans a couple of weeks ago, and seemed rather proud of them.
The pans were covered with greasy drippings, black smoke residue and burnt bits of rub, and he put them in the kitchen sink. I asked him to wash them, and he said, "Well, I guess I will if you won't." [LOL] I told him I really didn't want to get the black grease all over me, so he agreed to wash them.
I left the kitchen, and a few minutes later he came in the bedroom and said, "I threw the pans away."

Culture may enhance it in certain ways, but pretty much I can tell a manly man no matter what culture he's from and vice versa. Manly men are just as obvious in Scotland as they are in the USA. Feminine women are just as easy to spot in India as they are in China.
The outward trappings aren't what make a person truly masculine or feminine, although it certainly contributes. It's more behavioral. The trappings are only reflective of a leaning one way or the other.

No, pretty much culture defines what behaviors are acceptable for boys and girls. That's not saying there aren't physiological "innate" differences.
If it's behavioral, that only further proves that behaviors are learned.
This is the nature vs. nurture, which I don't believe is an either/or but a both/and. However, the list that is featured on this post is definitely ALL culturally defined. Nothing innate there.
