Anyway, they drove 2 hours (one way) to hear him preach on... hair. I'll have the CD hopefully tonight and upload it. It was noted by my friend (an avid Stoneking fan) that Stoneking said he didn't believe there were any "additional blessings" associated with hair. I'll have to listen myself to confirm.

In addition to what?

I used to admire and respect the man but I have fallen. Please pray for me that I will catch the Holy Magic Hair bug so I can once again feel comfortable going to his meetings and shouting every time he mentions the magic hair stuff

Re: Stoneking was in Midland Michigan last week...
I have only heard L Stoneking in person once way back in I believe 1990 at BOTT. I have watched or listened to him online probably another four or five times in the last few years.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Whenever men reach this level in Religion, they become untouchable for the most part, creating an Idol mentallity. This leads to a false image of what the ministry is truly about, causing the young to want the spotlight and the stage.

Elvis had the same effect. So did Michael Jackson.... and the Beatles. The people who fall over themselves upon hearing, seeing, and feeling the warm hot breath of LS on their face at the alter do no recognize it is the exact same spirit as in the other three examples. The spirit of 'Celebrity'. (Which isn't altogether bad if you recognize what it is and put it in its proper place.)
