Because last time I went it cost me $350 for nothing! It started out with what I thought were allergies, lasting with two months of coughing. That was about five or more years ago, I think.
The doctor wouldn't prescribe anything until I had a chest x-ray. Nothing he gave me helped.
Anyway, this year, I bought a bottle of VSOP brandy and drank a Hot Toddy with 2 oz of brandy every night for two weeks. It helped me sleep.
We drove by that same liquor store the other day and my husband asked me, "Is that where you bought your brandy?"
"Yes, I can't wait to get sick next year in March!"
Talk about timing for a thread.......... I have a doctor appt. tomorrow morning. One of those fasting things. Every 3 months my doc wants you to come in fasting for blood tests, then he'll renew your prescriptions.
Well, frankly, I'm so disgusted with life in general right now that I am having a hard time convincing myself that the trip is worth it. I know he's gonna be all over my case because I stopped taking the 3rd kind of cholesterol medication he's put me on. Plus, I'm supposed to take my diabetis medication twice a day. Usually I only remember the bedtime dose. He'll have a fit about that too. But oh well. I don't feel like listening to him right now (or anyone else, thank you very much). So maybe I'll just skip it altogether. Plus if I do that, I'll save myself a ton of money.

We have an older woman in our Church who is 82. They had her on so many meds, the doc's were killing her. She stopped taking them and feels much better. Go figure!
I've had my experience with bad treatment. About 8 years ago I went to the Doctor because my back hurt. Well, after getting me hooked on narcotics I realized that maybe these guys aren't doing what's best for me.
After I flushed the pills and got off of that junk, I stopped going the doctor and found other ways to cope with my problem. It's been several years now, and I don't miss going to a place where the Pharmaceutical companies have paid off those who are supposed to care about us.
It's just kind of funny. My wife and I jab each other about going. We are both almost 50, and everyone say's you need to get "Checked".
Neither of us want to be first....
Well, some of the stories are pretty amazing. A good friend of mine had a bad heart. Went to the doctor and (so my friend says, anyway), he came away with a brand new heart! Dunno. Could be true, I guess.
