Muslims Stand Up For Jesus

We know the Muslims do not know Jesus for Whom He really is, however, it makes you stop and think about how the church sits back when Muslims BAN a rock singer for degrading Jesus.

Elton John Banned in Egypt Over Remarks About Jesus
Posted on May 6th 2010 11:30AM by John D. Luerssen

Elton John has been banned from performing an upcoming gig in Egypt as a result of remarks he made earlier in the year that suggested Jesus was a "super-intelligent gay man" and accused Middle Easterners of being homophobic. The New York Daily News reports John's May 18 concert was canceled by Mounir al-Wasimi, the head of Egypt's Music Union.

Jesus is considered a prophet to worshippers of Islam, and John's remarks are considered an insult to the religion. John, who first came out in the '80s, is married to David Furnish.

"A homosexual who wants to ban religions, claimed that the prophet Issa [Jesus] was gay and calls for Middle Eastern countries to allow gays to have sexual freedom [can't perform]," al-Wasimi reportedly told Contactmusic.

In a February interview with Parade magazine, John also condemned countries in the region, which are largely Islamic, for hating on homosexuals. "Try being a gay woman in the Middle East – you're as good as dead," he said in that article.

Try going there and openly preaching Jesus on the streets and see how much they stand up for Jesus.

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Re: Muslims Stand Up For Jesus

BTW you have a faulty comparison. This was a government action. The church is not the government so we have no power to ban Elton John or otherwise

Personally, I felt the issue was more on Elton bringing up "homosexuality" than the reference to Jesus.

I felt the other way. But I think Elton John would have been banned for either remark even if he never said the other.

This is the first thing that al-Wasimi said - "A homosexual who wants to ban religions..." That's why I took that as more an issue than what he said about Jesus. I think if Elton would have said anything else and not brought up "homosexuality", we probably wouldn't have heard as much of an outcry, JMO.

I have no idea what your point is, except that you think we, as Christians, are supposed to do the same thing. If so, I would never be in favor of your kind of Christianity. Whew......talk about "Legalism."

I'm fairly certain its been known forever that he is a homosexual and for quite a few years that he wants to ban religion. They still had the concert scheduled and already knew these things. So it being canceled is either him claiming Jesus was gay or recently voicing his opinion calling for muslim countries to allow gays to have sexual freedoms.

Well, either way, I'm fine with him being banned for it. Might as well, since the USA, banned - in a way, Franklin Graham from speaking at the Pentagon.
