Azzan, I hope you stick around and comment on other threads as well, not just this one. You are welcome in my book.

Bingo. If you met me on the street or in a resturant you would have no clue that I was gay. I have told a few close friends and co-workers and all of them were shocked. They never had a clue.

I don't think anyone questions their ability to kill people, Aquila
And when it's open, would there be more of an issue?
Also, I don't think the concern is crazy gay sex going on in foxholes. I think the issue is other men being comfortable sharing a foxhole or intimate quarters with a gay man.

Thanks, DM. I appreciate it. I wasn't sure what kind of welcome I would get.

What is ideal and what is reality are two different things. There's a reason why most heterosexuality infidelity happens with co-workers.

You pray for me... I'll pray for you.

You make a major presupposition that people are "born gay" or that somehow same-sex attraction is normal (and yes, we are talking from a spiritual perspective here).

It's a completely different situation from a straight male hitting on a straight woman. Yes, the woman may rebuff the male but then she might not. See the difference? It's apples to oranges.
|
But even though I wouldn't act upon a desire for a woman where I had no chance, does that make that woman any more comfortable by share intimate living quarters or showers with her?
I don't think it's so much apples and oranges. If you insist in it, then let's just talk about the apple.

And I haven't said you can't. I'm disagreeing.
The argument AND concern are reasonable. That doesn't even mean you have to agree -- but saying it's "reasonable" means you understand it, their argument makes sense, and you either agree or still have a rebuttal to alleviate that reasonable concern.

Of course those are mis-informed Christians, or false teachers.
Living a gay lifestyle is unacceptable, violates God's desire for mankind, order of his Creation, is a result of sin and challenges every truth about God's ability to provide, satisfy our needs and that He is in control.
That said, of course anyone can come inquire, learn about and even become a disciple of Jesus while sorting through and dealing with these issues.
