Yes, of course. Jesus died the most horrific death on the cross, shed His blood for our sins, but it only works if we say juuussstt the right words at the moment of baptism.
Good grief.
And don't even think about what happens if part of you doesn't quite get submerged.

Your baptism was invoked by a man with a speech impediment, and I'm not sure if you used the magic words. Oh, and your stammering lips didn't quite make it too tongues. SOOOOOOOOOO close. (In my Office Space voice: Yeeaaahhhh....)
Isn't that CRAZY??? But that's what they basically say!!! "Aw dang it, you missed just my a nip. Burn in hell forever. Shucks."
And don't even think about what happens if part of you doesn't quite get submerged.
You posted the "toofunny" thing but I was taught in bible school that I had to do whatever it took to get every part of the person under water because failure to do so would result in that person being lost if they weren't re-baptized.
The sarcasam is rather thick, imo. Not that I'm above such things, however, I usually reserve that for things like politicians and my husband...j/k...about the politicians...j/k again!
The Word says obedience is better than sacrifice. We're to "obey" the gospel, there must be something we actually have to do to obey.
If the Apostles thought it necessary to obey, if Jesus Himself obeyed and was baptized how can we possibly do anything less.
Jesus said those who believe and are baptized shall be saved.
He gave Peter the keys to the Kingdom, he preached the Gospel then when asked what to do about that he told them.
More examples follow in the Book of Acts and yet that doesn't seem to be enough....go figure.

Let's see, you're the one who complimented Coadie, right? Thought so.
Man, I think you're way off on this. Do you have examples of OP groups that believe in salvation at repentance/faith? I don't know of any.

You got it Jeffrey. Of all the ministers on Aff even, I think the majority will say that water and Spirit baptism follows conversion.

What's that suppose to mean? Because I am very conservative politically that makes my beliefs in the Word of God null and void?
That says more about you then me....(smiles nice)!

Man! You really were wacked out weren't you?

Soooooooooo, what.....we just all guess at it and hope we're right?
Noooooooo, we know the only way to be saved is repenting of our sins. Jesus shed His blood for us.
