Now under Obama he is spending untold amounts of money on "stimulus".
The problem that nobody can seem to see is that no matter who gets voted into office the same march step movement toward financial destruction continues.
Under the repubs it's always spent on the military. Under the dems it's always spent domestically but it is always spent.
The thing that amazes me to no end is this. The things that we griped about under Bush but no one could see are now ever so visible because it's happening under Obama.
This isn't new. It's just that "the other team" is ruining us now.

The Congress has been controlled by Democrats since 2006. Can you give us figures for the last 3-4 years and compare them with the first 6 years of the Bush administration?
The libs forget they have been voting in favor if military spending since they took over.
I woulldn't say Dems in control of Congress and the White house is very partisan.

I can show that the steady $5 per ounce Silver price ended in November of 2003... 3 years before the democratically controlled congress.
And... the dems voted for the military spending... that just means they share blame.
But... you demonstrate my point once again. It always boils back to the "they evil... we good" mindset that allows a continual march to destruction.
Jermyn can't see any wrong in what is going on now. When a repub gets voted back in... he'll see clearly again.
We have got to shake this partisan sight and open our eyes.

China and Germany are critical of our economic policies today. Leader of the free world? Silent.

Wow, D4T, I pretty much agree with this. While the big shots keep us busy arguing over who is right, no matter who gets voted in, they rub their hands together and promote their agenda, which is scary and seems to be all towards the same end. Granted, I did and do vote. I think at least the local elections can make a difference.

Re: Coffee, Sugar, Gas, Gold & Silver Going Up
Deacon is right, inflation is coming.
Honestly, I am a bit surprised we haven't already experienced skyrocketing inflation. I suppose our economy is a bit more resilient than I believed.
I have a very hard time believing the recession is truly over. GDP may be better, and the banks may have been saved, but the American people are really hurting. Go to google and type in "real unemployment rate." You will be shocked to see that the real unemployment rate is around 18%.
People are still losing their homes at an alarming rate.
There are no jobs.
And now comes inflation.
The worst has not hit yet. You're about to hear the words "double-dip recession" a lot.
Don't believe it.
This is not a double-dip recession, this is a different kind of Great Depression. This is a new economic reality.

I agree with you, Charnock. One piece of the puzzle I have missing in my brain is the differences between this and the Carter era. It's a different scenario, I know, but I would like to see someone write up just exactly what the differences are. Any suggestions?
