The slippery slope fallacy is false. Perhaps it started when we allowed Radio or when we failed to forbid upon pain of 40 lashings the Internet?
The truth is even back then video and media was NOT as pervasive as it is now, but even way back then there were people who had TVs hidden in their bedrooms because they disagreed in their own selves with the pastor on TV but nodded their heads while he was preaching.
Had the UPC not delegalized the use of Video it's use still would have grown anyways. In fact now we have DVDs when then they only had VCR and so now everyone here has computer that probably has the capability to watch DVD AND watch streaming video online. It's inevitable. What we need is good teaching and preaching that trains us all to be spiritually discerning. But what we have instead is a handed down set of dos and don'ts that don't teach the internal man how to really be holy and spiritually discerning what is right and wrong. And as result we have people who think they are doing GOOD because they are in compliance with the UPC by not having a TV but watching video over the internet.
It reminds me of sisters that wear skirts...below the knees.....but are TIGHT and made of very sheer fabrics. They wear tight tops too...the point is they dress the dress according to the UPC decree but they look for loopholes on how to look sexy. These dos and don'ts don't do a thing haha....teach them how to be wise as serpents. Teach them how to discern evil from good. Teach them how to be truely Holy inside. Then you won't have to dictate to them "no internet either"
